Dry Whey - Northeast
USDA - Thu Jan 16, 5:31AM CST
MD_DA560

     Dry Whey - Eastern U.S.

     Report 3 - Released on January 16, 2020

Dry whey prices are unchanged in the East. Spot prices have been gradually picking up on the
CME Group this week. Trading activities have been active on various market indices. Dry whey
production schedules are higher, as more milk is clearing to Class III processing plants.
Manufacturers' inventories are stable to growing. The demand is mixed in the region. Some
market participants are willing to buy at the higher end of the price range. However, many
buyers' needs are met by their Q1 contracts, although some would potentially entertain spot
loads priced lower than current market prices. Market conditions are somewhat unsettled.
Prices for: Eastern U.S., All First Sales, F.O.B., Extra Grade & Grade A, Conventional, and
     Edible Dry Whey
     Price Range - Non-Hygroscopic; $/LB: .3075 - .3800
